Easily collaborate with crew members when logging fuel and GNE checks to produce a single master record for oceanic flights. This alignment enhances safety and efficiency by minimizing miscommunication regarding routing, checks, and waypoint data.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. On Dispatch: release a flight to two or more users with Active Navlog in the same Organization
  2. On ForeFlight Mobile:
    1. Navigate to Active Navlog
    2. Have both users select the same Flight
  3. User 1:
    1. Tap either the “Connect” button embedded in the “Start or join Cockpit Sharing” banner, or tap the Cockpit Sharing icon in the top right corner
    2. After enabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and applicable in-app network permissions, tap “Begin Cockpit Sharing.”
    3. User 1 is now the Master user in this Cockpit Share for this Active Navlog
      1. Note the MASTER badge, Devices Connected now is 1, and the badge on the Cockpit Sharing icon is also 1
  4. User 2:
    1. From within the same flight, tap either the “Connect” CTA button embedded in the “Start or join Cockpit Sharing” banner, or tap the Cockpit Sharing icon in the top right corner
    2. Look for the Active Navlog/Cockpit Share that’s currently active (Note: the majority of times, there will only be one in this list)
    3. Tap “Join”
    4. User 2 has now joined as a read-only user
      1. Note the READ ONLY badge, Devices Connected now is 2, and the badge on the Cockpit Sharing icon is also 2
  5. The Master is now free to complete the Active Navlog as usual
    1. If at any point the Master device loses connectivity or leaves the Cockpit Share by tapping the banner or the Cockpit Share button, the Read Only device will become the Master
    2. The Read Only device can Take Control at any point by tapping the “Take Control” button.
